HighLevel and ClickFunnels compared on funnel building, CRM, workspaces vs sub-accounts and dated list prices, plus who should stay on ClickFunnels.
Last reviewed ·Prices checked on
Short answer
Choose ClickFunnels if your revenue runs through funnels, courses and a small email list for a single business. Choose HighLevel if you run funnels, follow-up and messaging for several clients, since sub-accounts are unlimited from the $297 plan. At list prices both start at $97 per month, but they limit different things.

ClickFunnels and HighLevel overlap more than their origins suggest. ClickFunnels began as a funnel builder and added CRM, email and automation apps. HighLevel began as an agency CRM and marketing automation platform and added a funnel and website builder. If you are choosing between them, the decision comes down to whether funnels are the center of your business or one tool among several.
This page uses vendor pages read on 2026-10-31. We did not use either product to write it, and we do not claim funnel-builder quality or conversion differences. Where a vendor page does not state something, we say so.
Funnel builder: parity, honestly
Both products let you build multi-step funnels, collect orders and run upsells. HighLevel’s help center documents one-step order forms on a funnel step with order bumps and coupon codes [8], and one-click upsells on the next step that reuse the buyer’s payment details [7]. One catch from that article: the one-click upsell works only in HighLevel’s V2 funnels with its native form element, not in V1 funnels or websites [7]. Its snapshot feature can copy funnels, forms and workflows between sub-accounts [6]. ClickFunnels lists unlimited funnels, landing pages and site pages on every plan, though it marks “Unlimited Funnels” as “Limited Time” on its pricing page [3]. The support article says lower tiers have a set funnel limit and does not state the number [4]. Check which of those is true on the day you buy.
What we cannot say: which builder is faster to use, which templates convert better, or which handles your specific checkout flow. Neither vendor page answers that, and an affiliate site has no business pretending otherwise. Build one real funnel in each trial.
The CRM and automation gap
ClickFunnels says every plan includes core CRM features, including MessageHub, Appointments and Opportunities, and states that all plans include unlimited contacts [5]. Its CRM page lists Email and Automations among apps “included for free in every plan” [5]; the pricing page’s per-plan automation rows could not be read reliably, so check the plan you buy [3]. HighLevel’s whole structure is built around the CRM: contacts, pipelines, workflows and messaging per sub-account [1][6].
The honest summary is that both have a CRM, and we have not verified depth from vendor documents. Differences you can check yourself:
- Contact limits. ClickFunnels’ CRM page says unlimited contacts [5], while its pricing page lists email contact limits of 10K on Launch, 75K on Scale, 150K on Optimize and 400K on Dominate, and monthly email sends of 50K, 300K, 750K and 1.2M [3]. Those two statements are about different things, and the pricing page is the one that tells you when you will hit a ceiling.
- Messaging. HighLevel bills email at $0.675 per 1,000 [2] and publishes SMS and calling rates in its help center. ClickFunnels’ pricing page bundles email volume into each plan and does not mention SMS or calling [3].
- Multi-client use. See the next section.
How do the list prices compare?
| HighLevel | ClickFunnels | Source | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Starter: $97 per month, $970 per year | Launch: $97 per month, $970 per year | [1][3][4] |
| Middle plan | Unlimited: $297 per month, $2,970 per year | Scale: $197 per month, $1,970 per year; Optimize: $297 per month, $2,970 per year | [1][3][4] |
| Higher plan | Founder: $497 per month, $4,970 per year | Dominate: $5,997 per year, annual only | [1][3] |
| Client or workspace limit | 3 sub-accounts on Starter; unlimited from $297 | 1, 5, 10, 20 brand workspaces on Launch, Scale, Optimize, Dominate | [1][3] |
| Team members | Unlimited users on Starter | 2, 5, 10, 20 on the four plans | [1][3] |
| Free trial | 14 days on every plan | Free trial offered (length not stated in the visible page text); 30-day money-back guarantee | [1][3] |
| Cut of your sales | None stated on the pricing page; payment providers listed | FAQ says it takes no percentage of sales; no transaction fee listed | [1][3] |
| API access | Basic API access from Unlimited | “Webhooks/Full API Access” listed from Scale | [1][3] |
ClickFunnels’ pricing page also shows monthly-equivalent annual prices of $81, $164 and $248 for Launch, Scale and Optimize [3]. These are the annual totals divided by twelve and rounded.
ClickFunnels’ support article defines a workspace as one “business” you run in the account [4], and its pricing page labels it “Workspace (Sub-Account)” [3]. That is close to a HighLevel sub-account, but the two do not include the same tools, so use the comparison above as a guide to scale, not an exact match.
Pros and cons, both sides
HighLevel, in its favor
- Unlimited sub-accounts from $297, and a copy-and-paste setup for new clients using snapshots [1][6].
- Messaging, calling and workflow automation are part of the same platform [1][2].
- Rebilling and SaaS options for agencies [2].
HighLevel, against it
- Usage charges for email, SMS, calling and AI are separate from the plan price [1][2].
- The funnel builder is one feature among many, and its documentation is spread over many help articles.
- The $497 plan carries three different names on HighLevel’s own pages [1][2].
ClickFunnels, in its favor
- A clear four-plan ladder with listed workspace, team, contact and email limits [3].
- Courses, communities and stores as plan-level features: courses and communities of 3 and 3 on Launch up to 20 and 20 on Dominate, and 1 to 20 stores [3].
- Core CRM apps included in every plan [5].
ClickFunnels, against it
- Per-plan ceilings on workspaces, team members, contacts and emails mean you move up a tier as you grow [3].
- The “Limited Time” label on unlimited funnels makes a long-term plan harder to reason about [3].
- Webhooks and full API access are not listed on the entry Launch plan [3].
Who should stay on ClickFunnels
- You run one business whose revenue is funnels and courses. Its plans are built around that, and rebuilding working funnels carries a cost with no revenue upside.
- Your funnels are already converting and your CRM needs are light. Switching platforms to chase features you will not use is rarely worth it.
- You do not manage client accounts. HighLevel’s main advantages for agencies are sub-accounts and rebilling [1][2].
Who should not pick HighLevel
- Anyone who wants a funnel builder first and everything else second.
- Businesses that dislike usage-based bills.
- Teams with no time to learn a platform with many features.
- A solo operator with one business and no clients, where the sub-account model is unused.
What it costs for one brand, five and twenty
List-price arithmetic from the table above, before usage fees and taxes. It is not a quote.
- One brand or client. ClickFunnels Launch is $97 per month [3] and HighLevel Starter is $97 per month [1]. At this size the price is a tie, so the decision is about fit.
- Five brands or clients. ClickFunnels Scale allows 5 workspaces at $197 per month [3]. HighLevel needs Unlimited at $297 per month once you pass three sub-accounts [1]. ClickFunnels is cheaper on paper here, if a workspace is what you need.
- Twenty brands or clients. ClickFunnels Dominate allows 20 workspaces at $5,997 per year [3], which is about $500 per month, annual only. HighLevel’s Unlimited plan has no sub-account cap at $297 per month [1]. HighLevel is cheaper on the plan line, but its usage charges will be added to the bill [2], and ClickFunnels’ email allowances are bundled into the plan at 1.2M sends per month on Dominate [3].
The point of the exercise is that the cheaper platform changes with your client count. Run your own numbers in the Agency Profit calculator rather than relying on ours.
Can you move from ClickFunnels to HighLevel?
HighLevel documents a ClickFunnels page importer for ClickFunnels 1.0 and 2.0 funnels. It works one funnel step at a time from the live page link (not the ClickFunnels share link), and membership areas do not import [9]. HighLevel’s migration guide has you recreate courses by hand, move products by CSV export and import, and reconnect payment gateways [10]. Treat the importer as a head start on page design, not a full migration. A sensible order:
- List every live funnel, the traffic source behind it and its last 90 days of results from your own analytics.
- Move the lowest-traffic funnel first and keep the original running until the copy has taken real orders.
- Re-create automations and email sequences by hand, and check the email sending limits and warm-up rules on the new platform before you move a large list.
- Update domains and tracking only after the new funnel is confirmed working.
- Keep the old account until your last billing cycle has run, in case you need to retrieve order history.
None of this is specific to these two vendors. It is simply how to avoid breaking a revenue stream while you test a new tool.
What we could not verify
For completeness, here is what this draft leaves open, so you know where to look:
- What your payment gateway charges on either platform. ClickFunnels says it takes no percentage of sales [3], but processor fees are set by the processor you connect, and neither pricing page lists them [1][3].
- Per-plan availability of ClickFunnels’ automation and advanced workflow features. The pricing page cells did not read reliably, so we make no claim [3].
- ClickFunnels’ trial length. Its visible pricing text offers a free trial without stating the length [3].
- Funnel conversion rates for either product. We have none, and we will not publish numbers we did not measure.
Alternatives
Neither product is the only option for funnels or CRM. See HighLevel alternatives, HighLevel vs HubSpot and the CRM selection guide. To see where HighLevel’s plan prices land, read the pricing guide or use the Agency Profit calculator.
Verdict
If funnels, courses and a mailing list are the business, and you manage one brand or a few, ClickFunnels is a reasonable place to stay and its limits are clearly listed. If you run client work, want follow-up messaging and pipelines next to your funnels, or plan to resell, HighLevel’s structure suits you better. Expect usage bills and plan for them. Whichever you choose, run a real funnel through the trial before you migrate anything.
Relevant if you manage several client accounts or need messaging and pipelines alongside funnels. Prices read 2026-10-31.

Questions
Is HighLevel a ClickFunnels alternative?
It can replace the funnel-building part. HighLevel's help center documents order forms on funnel steps with order bumps and coupon codes, and one-click upsells on the following step (in its V2 funnels), and snapshots can copy funnels between sub-accounts [6][7][8]. Whether the builder suits your pages is something to test in a trial.
Which is cheaper?
At list prices ClickFunnels starts at $97 per month on Launch [3] and HighLevel starts at $97 per month on Starter [1]. They limit different things: ClickFunnels limits workspaces, team members, contacts and emails by plan [3], while HighLevel limits sub-accounts on Starter and bills messaging by usage [1][2].
Does ClickFunnels have a CRM?
ClickFunnels says every plan includes core CRM features, naming MessageHub, Appointments and Opportunities [5]. How deep those go compared with HighLevel's CRM is not something this page can settle from vendor documents.
Can I move my funnels from ClickFunnels to HighLevel?
Partly. HighLevel documents a ClickFunnels page importer that works for ClickFunnels 1.0 and 2.0 funnels, one funnel step at a time from the live page link; membership areas do not import and must be rebuilt [9]. Its migration guide has you recreate courses by hand and move products by CSV [10]. Expect to rebuild checkout, automations and email sequences.
