HighLevel alternatives (and when to pick them)
Seven HighLevel alternatives by use case, with dated pricing facts from vendor pages, plus an honest list of when HighLevel is the wrong choice for you.
Last reviewed ·Prices checked on
Short answer
The closest HighLevel alternative depends on which parts you use. ClickFunnels and Kajabi overlap on funnels and courses, while HubSpot, Keap and ActiveCampaign overlap on CRM and marketing automation. HighLevel may be the wrong choice if you manage one business, need a sales CRM for a small team, or dislike variable bills.
This guide is on a site that earns a commission when readers sign up for HighLevel. That is a reason to be careful, not a reason to hide the alternatives. Plenty of businesses should not use HighLevel, and the right alternative depends on what you are replacing. We organize this page by use case, quote only what vendor pages state as of 2026-10-31, and tell you when we could not read a number.
If you are trying to work out whether consolidating tools would save money, start with the Software Stack Savings tool. It uses your costs, not ours.
First: be sure what you are replacing
HighLevel bundles many things: CRM, pipelines, email and SMS, calling, funnels and websites, calendars, memberships, and agency features such as sub-accounts and rebilling [1][2]. Which alternative fits depends on which of those you actually use. List the three you use every week. Then read the use cases below.
Alternatives by use case
1. HubSpot: for sales teams and larger marketing operations
HubSpot lists a free CRM for up to two users [4] and a Starter tier normally priced at $20 per seat per month, with new customers paying $7 per seat paid annually or $10 month-to-month [3][4]. Professional and Enterprise Marketing Hub start at $800 and $3,600 per month with $3,000 and $7,000 one-time onboarding fees [3]. Pick it when you need a per-seat sales CRM or a large marketing organization. It is a weak fit when you want cheap, unlimited client accounts. See HighLevel vs HubSpot.
2. ClickFunnels: when funnels are the business
ClickFunnels lists Launch at $97, Scale at $197 and Optimize at $297 per month, and Dominate at $5,997 per year, with workspaces (1, 5, 10 and 20), team members and email allowances rising by plan [5]. Pick it for a single brand selling through funnels and courses. Be aware of plan ceilings on workspaces and contacts. See HighLevel vs ClickFunnels.
3. Kajabi: for creators selling courses and memberships
Kajabi lists Basic at $179, Growth at $249 and Pro at $499 per month (or $143, $199 and $399 per month billed annually), with product, contact and admin-user limits rising by plan [6]. It lists unlimited funnels, landing pages and marketing emails on every plan, and states that it takes no revenue share [6]. Payment fees still apply: 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction on Kajabi Payments on Basic for US entities, and an extra 2%, 1% or 0.5% by plan if you use a third-party payment provider other than PayPal [6]. Pick it when your product is education or content. It is a poor fit if you need to run many separate client accounts; we did not verify any such structure.
4. systeme.io: for the lowest list prices on an all-in-one
systeme.io lists a free plan with 2,000 contacts, then paid plans at $17, $47 and $97 per month, and says all plans include unlimited email sends, 0% transaction fees and unlimited sub-accounts, each with the same limits as the main account’s plan [7]. That last point makes it a real low-cost option for someone running a few client accounts. Pick it when budget is the main constraint and your clients need funnels and email more than SMS and calling. We did not verify usage rebilling to clients, its white label feature or its automation depth.
5. Keap: for small-business sales and marketing automation
Keap lists “starting at $299/mo” with two users included, extra users at $39 per month and required implementation services [8]. Pick it for a small business that wants CRM and automation in one tool and can accept the starting price and implementation requirement. It is a poor fit when you want a low entry cost.
6. ActiveCampaign: for email-led marketing automation
ActiveCampaign lists Starter, Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans on a 1,000-contact base with 1, 1, 3 and 5 seats, and says an enhanced CRM is a paid add-on on higher plans and not included on Starter [9]. We could not read dollar amounts on the page. Pick it when email automation is the core need. Ask about client-account structure before choosing it for agency work; we did not verify one.
7. Zoho CRM: for a per-user CRM with a free start
Zoho lists a free edition for three users and four paid editions: Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate [10]. We could not read per-user edition prices. Pick it for an internal sales CRM. Check the whole Zoho suite fit before assuming it will cover messaging and funnels.
Pros and cons: HighLevel against the field
In HighLevel’s favor
- A single platform for CRM, messaging, funnels and agency features, with unlimited contacts and users listed on the entry plan [1].
- No sub-account cap from the $297 plan [1], alongside documented rebilling of phone and email usage to clients [2]. systeme.io also lists unlimited sub-accounts [7]; we did not verify usage rebilling on any alternative.
- Month-to-month plans and a 14-day trial [1].
Against HighLevel
- Usage-based charges sit outside the plan price [1][2].
- The breadth means a longer setup than a single-purpose tool.
- Rates and plan names are spread across several pages that do not always agree [1][2].
- Several alternatives publish a single, simple price ladder that is easier to budget against, for example ClickFunnels and Kajabi [5][6].
Three typical readers
A consultant with five small clients and a messy toolset. The question is whether a flat $297 plan [1] plus usage costs [2] beats the five separate subscriptions you pay now. That is exactly what the Stack Savings tool is for. If most of the cost is a single email tool, ActiveCampaign or a lighter alternative may be a smaller change than a platform move [9]. If your clients need funnels and email but not texting or calling, price systeme.io too: it lists unlimited sub-accounts on every plan, from $0 [7].
A course creator with one brand. You are probably looking at Kajabi or ClickFunnels, not HighLevel [5][6]. Compare their limits on products, contacts and email sends against your list size.
A founder building a small sales team. Start with a per-seat CRM. HubSpot’s free tier or Zoho’s free edition cost nothing to try [4][10], and you can revisit the question when you have clients to manage.
What the alternatives leave out
Every product above has gaps relative to HighLevel, and HighLevel has gaps relative to each of them. We list the ones we can support from vendor pages, and leave the rest as questions to ask:
- Client accounts. HighLevel’s sub-accounts are documented on its pricing page [1]. Among the alternatives, systeme.io lists unlimited sub-accounts on every plan [7], ClickFunnels lists 1 to 20 workspaces by plan [5], and HubSpot connects up to 30 separate accounts with an Enterprise-tier hub [3]. Keap’s and ActiveCampaign’s pricing pages do not describe one [8][9], and we did not find one for Kajabi or Zoho; ask them directly.
- Resale and white label. HighLevel documents rebilling with markup on its $497 plan [2]. We did not verify resale or usage-rebilling features for the alternatives; ask each vendor.
- Included sending. ClickFunnels lists monthly email-send allowances per plan [5]; systeme.io says emails sent are unlimited [7]; HighLevel bills per thousand [2]. These are different philosophies, and your volume decides which is cheaper.
- Onboarding costs. HubSpot lists required onboarding fees on Professional and Enterprise [3] and Keap lists required implementation services [8].

| Alternative | Best for | Prices we could read | Source |

When is HighLevel the wrong choice?
Skip HighLevel, or at least delay it, if any of these describe you:
- You manage one business and no clients. Its agency structure, with sub-accounts and rebilling, is the core of its pricing [1], and you will pay for capacity you do not use.
- You need a sales CRM for a small team. A per-seat CRM, including the free tiers above [4][10], may do the job with less to learn.
- You hate variable bills. Messaging, calling and AI are billed by usage on top of the plan [1][2].
- Your clients are large and already standardized on another platform. Do not move their system of record for your convenience.
- You sell courses or content as your main product. A tool built around that, such as Kajabi, may be a better start [6].
- You want a vendor with one published price list. HighLevel’s rates are spread across help center articles, and its pages disagree on the $497 plan name [1][2].
- You have no time to configure anything. A broad platform needs setup time, and no pricing page changes that.
When HighLevel is worth a look
When you run follow-up, pipelines, messaging and funnels for several small-business clients and want one login, flat plan pricing and the option to resell [1][2]. Unlimited at $297 per month removes the sub-account cap [1]; Founder at $497 per month is where the help center places markup on rebilled usage [2]. Read the pricing guide before you start a trial.
How to decide
- List the tools you pay for today and what each costs per month.
- Mark the features you use weekly. Ignore the rest.
- Shortlist two alternatives from the use cases above, plus HighLevel if the agency model fits.
- Build one real workflow in each trial.
- Add expected usage costs to each plan price.
- Compare totals using the Software Stack Savings tool.

Questions
What is the closest alternative to HighLevel?
It depends on which part of HighLevel you use. For funnels and courses, ClickFunnels and Kajabi overlap [5][6]. For CRM and marketing automation, HubSpot, Keap and ActiveCampaign overlap [3][8][9]. On client accounts, systeme.io says every plan includes unlimited sub-accounts [7] and ClickFunnels offers 1 to 20 workspaces by plan [5]; HubSpot connects up to 30 separate accounts on Enterprise [3]. We did not verify HighLevel-style rebilling of messaging costs to clients on any of them.
Is there a cheaper alternative to HighLevel?
On list prices, yes for some uses. systeme.io lists plans from $0 to $97 per month [7], and HubSpot lists a free CRM for up to two users [4]. They solve narrower problems, so compare what you would still need to buy alongside them.
Do I need to replace all my tools to use HighLevel?
No. Many teams start with one workflow and keep the rest. If you want to check whether consolidating would save money, use the Software Stack Savings tool with your own subscription costs.
Are alternatives free of usage fees?
Not necessarily. HighLevel bills email at $0.675 per 1,000 and other messaging by usage [1][2]. Other vendors bundle sends into plans with caps instead, for example ClickFunnels lists monthly email-send allowances by plan [5]. The cost structure differs, not the existence of a cost.
