HighLevel SaaS mode pricing: plan cost and how to price

SaaS mode sits on HighLevel's $497 Founder plan. What it costs, what rebilling markup means, and frameworks for pricing your own SaaS plans. Dated.

Short answer

SaaS mode sits on HighLevel's $497 a month plan, which the plan card calls Founder. HighLevel does not set the price you charge your customers; you do. We found no separate SaaS mode fee, so the documented cost is the $497 plan plus usage and any add-ons you choose. Confirm in the app before you commit.

SaaS mode is HighLevel’s feature for selling the platform to your own clients under your own pricing, and it sits on the $497 a month plan: the pricing page FAQ calls it the “Pro Plan ($497/mo)”, the plan card calls it Founder, and the help center ties rebilling with markup to that plan and to SaaS mode [1][2]. HighLevel does not set the price you charge your customers. You do [1]. This guide covers what the plan costs, what else adds to your own cost, and frameworks for pricing, with no promises about what you will earn.

All figures are from HighLevel’s own pages, read on 2026-10-31. For the full plan ladder, see HighLevel pricing explained.

How we researched this

We read HighLevel’s pricing page and help center on 2026-10-31. We have not run a SaaS offer on HighLevel, so the frameworks below are pricing logic and arithmetic from published rates, not results. The numbers in the examples are assumptions, labelled as such.

What SaaS mode is, in one paragraph

HighLevel’s FAQ describes SaaS mode as turning HighLevel into “your own sellable software product”: you sell subscriptions from your website, client accounts are created automatically, you set the price, and you earn recurring revenue by rebilling SMS, email and other features such as WordPress hosting [1]. Plans are built in the SaaS Configurator, which runs on one of two separate billing architectures: V1 (Stripe) or V2 (an agency sub-account with a supported provider) [3]. How setup, provisioning and the V1/V2 differences work is in the SaaS mode guide. This page is only about cost and price.

What does SaaS mode cost you?

What we can document:

  • The plan: $497 a month, or $4,970 a year [1].
  • Usage cost to you: HighLevel charges your agency wallet first, then you charge the client [2][4]. The rates are in HighLevel usage costs.
  • Add-ons you choose to resell: for example the AI Employee plans (Growth $50 and Unlimited $97 a month per sub-account) and the Branded Client Portal App ($49) [1]. The AI Employee Starter plan ($20 a month) is limited to Founder agencies [7].
  • Your payment processor’s fees. The phone rebilling article sets a default 1.05x multiplier on Unlimited-plan phone rebilling to cover Stripe charges [4]. Your own processor’s rates are not on a HighLevel page, so check them.

We found no separate SaaS mode fee on the pricing page or in the pricing guide [1][2], but we can’t prove a negative. Check the plan screen when you sign up.

What can you mark up?

On the $497 plan HighLevel lets you add a markup to rebilled usage, with the margin set in sub-account settings or the SaaS Configurator [2]. Phone rebilling needs your Stripe account connected and a card from the client, never your own [4]. AI Employee rebilling also requires the $497 plan [2][7]. On the $297 plan you can rebill only at cost [2].

Worked example: cost floor per client

The inputs are published rates from [5] and [6]; the usage volumes and the client count are assumptions you should replace with your own. The usage lines repeat the example in HighLevel usage costs; this page adds the plan share.

Assume one client sends 5,000 emails and 2,000 single-segment SMS a month and has one local number.

Line Rate Your cost
Email $0.675 per 1,000 [6] $3.375
SMS $0.00747 per segment [5] $14.94
Local number $1.15 a month [5] $1.15
Total (before carrier and A2P fees) about $19.47

Carrier fees, A2P registration and any AI or call minutes come on top [5]. Add your share of the $497 plan: if you expected 20 clients, that is $24.85 each (our arithmetic: $497 / 20). Your cost floor in this example is therefore about $44 per client per month before processor fees and your own time. Any price below the floor loses money.

Four pricing frameworks

None of these promises an outcome. They are ways to structure the decision.

1. Cost-plus

Take the cost floor above and add a margin. It is simple and defensible, and it prices you by your costs rather than by what the client gets. It tends to produce low prices, so use it mainly as a floor check.

2. Value-based, one niche

HighLevel’s own SaaS playbook tells agencies to pick one niche, solve a single friction point such as missed-call follow-up, and standardise a plug-and-play setup [8]. Price against the cost of that problem for the client, not against your hours. Write down the figure the client already pays (for example a receptionist, an answering service or a lead-follow-up tool) and price below the total of what you replace. The software stack savings calculator is built for that comparison.

3. Tiered plans

The Configurator supports plan categories, features, add-ons and usage-based billing [3]. A common structure is three tiers: a base plan with the core CRM and a capped usage allowance, a middle plan with more automation, and a top plan that adds AI and higher limits. Gate by what costs you money (AI minutes, SMS volume, extra sending domains) rather than by arbitrary feature lists.

4. Base fee plus usage markup

Charge a platform fee that covers your plan share and support, then let usage run through rebilling with a markup [2]. HighLevel’s playbook describes linking profit to usage so your revenue grows as the client’s activity does [8]. The risk is bill shock for the client. Show estimates up front.

Check the margin before you launch

Model client count, price, usage and churn in the agency profit calculator. It takes your inputs, not ours.

A few questions to answer before pricing:

  1. What is your cost floor per client at realistic usage?
  2. What happens at 5 clients? At 50? Support time may not scale.
  3. Who handles A2P registration and failed texts?
  4. Will you offer a trial? The Configurator supports plan trials [3]. Decide who covers usage fees during one.
  5. Which architecture, V1 or V2, fits your payment provider [3]?

Who should not pay for SaaS mode

  • You only manage a few client accounts. The $297 plan covers at-cost rebilling and unlimited sub-accounts [1][2]; a $200 monthly step up needs a reason.
  • You have no niche or offer yet. HighLevel’s own playbook starts with choosing one [8], and without it you can’t estimate the price a client will pay.
  • Your cost floor is close to what clients will pay. If the worked example above leaves little room at your realistic client count, the plan share alone can wipe out the margin.

The non-price reasons (support load, platform learning curve) are in the SaaS mode guide.

Pros and cons

For: you set your own prices [1]; usage markup is built in on the top plan [2]; recurring plans can be sold from a funnel or link [3].

Against: the plan costs $497 a month [1]; usage costs reach you first [2]; V2 does not support proration for tier or interval changes [3]; the same tier is called Founder, Pro and Agency Pro on HighLevel’s pages (see the naming note in pricing explained).

To see the plan for yourself, you can see the Founder plan on HighLevelaffiliate (opens HighLevel in a new tab). HighLevel offers a 14-day trial on any plan [1]; see how the trial works. If you’d also like to set up SaaS mode in a trial accountaffiliate (opens HighLevel in a new tab), remember usage fees can apply.

Plan and usage prices were read from HighLevel pages on 2026-10-31. Pricing your own SaaS plans is your decision and no earnings are implied.

Questions

Which HighLevel plan includes SaaS mode?

The $497 plan. HighLevel's pricing page FAQ describes SaaS mode on the 'Pro Plan ($497/mo)' [1], the plan card calls the same tier Founder [1], and the help center says rebilling with markup is available on the $497 Founder Plan and is part of SaaS mode [2].

Is there an extra fee for SaaS mode?

We found no separate SaaS mode fee on the pricing page or in the pricing guide [1][2]. The cost we can document is the $497 monthly plan plus usage and any add-ons you choose. Confirm in the app before you commit.

Do I need Stripe for SaaS mode?

SaaS V1 is Stripe-based and needs a connected Stripe account. SaaS V2 uses an Agency Sub-Account with a supported payment provider [3].

How much should I charge for my SaaS plans?

HighLevel does not set it; you do. The pricing page says 'You set the price' [1]. Start with your cost floor, then price on value to a specific niche. The frameworks below show how.

Can I mark up SMS and email in SaaS mode?

Yes, on the $497 plan. Rebilling with agency markup is available there and the margin can be set in sub-account settings or the SaaS Configurator [2]. The $297 plan can rebill only at cost [2].
